Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”) is an integral part of MSC’s strategy and culture.
We make it one of our top priorities to treat the environment with respect and to behave in the best interest of our customers, local communities and employees.
Our global management team in Geneva established the foundations of our CSR policies based on three key areas of sustainable development:
MSC is actively working to minimise air pollution from our vessel emissions and minimise the risks of transporting various types of cargo, such as hazardous materials, around the world. MSC has invested in new technologies, systems and processes to help us to improve our environmental performance.
MSC Code of Business Conduct
MSC works hard to promote high standards of ethical and responsible conduct by each of its 24,000 employees. Over the past few years we have developed and implemented policies across our global network of agencies to raise standards of conduct.
Community and People Development
MSC works with foundations and charities of all sizes in nations around the world. We are equally proud of our major global initiatives (such as our support of UNICEF) and the many local programmes undertaken by MSC personnel locally. Our staff around the world dedicate their time and money to causes close to their hearts, be it deprived schools in Santos or Macmillan Cancer Support in the UK.
These initiatives are developed and managed by our CSR Team who are supported by our network of agencies.
