MSC Germany Celebrates 50 Years of Connecting Germany to the World
23/06/2026
2026 marks a major milestone for MSC Germany as the organisation celebrates 50 years of growth, partnership, and commitment to the German market. Founded in 1976 the organisation has grown into MSC Germany of today - a network of dedicated teams across the country, connecting customers in Germany to MSC’s global network and comprehensive shipping and logistics solutions, with a strong presence in Germany’s key trade and logistics hubs.
Celebrating achievements together
This special anniversary was celebrated across two days, with customers, partners, stakeholders and employees coming together to commemorate 50 years of MSC Germany and to reflect on the people, relationships and moments that have shaped this journey. From the beginning, the occasion carried a strong sense of pride and connection, set by opening remarks from Group CEO Soren Toft and Managing Director of MSC Germany Nils Kahn, that both reflected on the journey so far and recognised the strength of the organisation today and the people behind it.
Set within the immersive art space Port des Lumières, guests were able to reflect on the history of MSC in Germany in a distinctive and memorable setting. This was enhanced with a specially produced film that brought the full story of MSC Germany to life, from its early beginnings to its role within MSC’s global network today.
Nils Kahn, Managing Director of MSC Germany, said:
“Marking 50 years in Germany is a proud moment for all of us. This milestone reflects the commitment of our teams, the trust of our customers and partners, and the long-term relationships we have built over decades. Above all, it is about the people who have shaped MSC in Germany and continue to drive our development every day.”
Strong local presence in a key European market
Today, MSC Germany operates with more than 850 dedicated experts across 10 locations nationwide, supporting one of Europe’s largest economic markets. From the key ports of Hamburg, Bremerhaven and Lübeck, MSC connects German businesses to global trade lanes with around 100 vessel calls every month, providing extensive sailings and reliable market access.
Through its established nationwide presence, MSC Germany combines market specific expertise with the reach and scale of MSC’s global shipping network, supporting customers across a wide range of industries.
Developing integrated solutions for evolving supply chains
MSC Germany has continuously expanded its service portfolio in line with the growing complexity of global supply chains. Today, this is reflected in a broad range of integrated shipping and logistics solutions.
Alongside its ocean services, MSC Germany offers intermodal solutions across road, rail and inland waterway networks, connecting German ports with major European trade hubs. This is complemented by short sea services connecting Germany with key markets in the Baltic, North Sea and Mediterranean, creating door-to-door solutions for customers supported by local experts.
At the same time, MSC Germany has further developed specialised solutions for key industries, including automotive logistics, project cargo for complex and oversized shipments, and reefer and pharmaceutical services for temperature sensitive cargo.
