The MSC Sailing Team won 1st place in their category and 32nd place overall in the Barcolana, the largest sailing race in the world. This impressive result is a testament to the crew’s exceptional passion, teamwork and skill.
Proudly sponsored by MSC, the Barcolana is held every October in the Gulf of Trieste in northern Italy. This unique, 10-day event attracts around 2,000 boats, 15,000 sailors and hundreds of thousands of spectators. In addition to competing, MSC took the opportunity to engage with visitors and local customers through a series of special events and family-friendly activities.

As our eighth season comes to an end, we couldn’t be happier to finish on such a high note in Trieste. It’s been a fantastic year – from an almost legendary Bol d’Or to a Grand Prix victory and now a class win at the Barcolana. Huge thanks to everyone behind the scenes and to MSC for making these incredible experiences possible.

Offshore action and onshore fun
From the 8 – 12 October, we welcomed visitors to the MSC lounge in the Barcolana Village. Featuring a unique two-floor design with a terrace overlooking the sea and the Psaros 33, this expanded space offered a lively and welcoming area for all.
The lounge was divided into three areas, MSC Cruises, MSC Cargo, and MSC Foundation, where activities for families and children took place.
MSC colleagues were delighted to host two evening events on 10 and 11 October, during which customers enjoyed music and cocktails on our top-floor terrace. We also invited guests to a brunch and big-screen live viewing during the race on 12 October.
