A Community that Cares

15/12/2023

As the year draws to a close, we at MSC UK would like to take a moment to reflect on the impactful charity initiatives and community support we've had the privilege of contributing to throughout the year. It warms our hearts to share the stories of positive change and the meaningful partnerships we've forged with some incredible organisations.
Our chosen charities

As has become tradition at MSC UK, all employees are invited to put forward a charity close to their heart that they would like to see supported in the coming year. From this list of charities, our employees are then invited to vote for which cause to support, with the top three most popular organisations becoming our gold, silver and bronze charities

For 2023, we joined hands with Ipswich Hospital Cancer Wards, specifically their Wellbeing Centre, as our chosen gold charity. This vital space provides a haven for patients and their families, offering support, counselling, and a range of wellness services. Our contributions made through raffles, charity runs, fundraising events and staff volunteering have gone towards enhancing this centre, ensuring it remains a beacon of hope and comfort for those facing challenging times.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance and Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) came a close second and third respectively, becoming our Silver and Bronze charities. Employees around the business were able to contribute to these great causes through both financial aid and hands-on volunteering, an aspect that is often overlooked yet plays a vital component in the day to day running of these organisations.

Lending a hand

In addition to our core charities for the year, MSC UK continues to support a wide range of worthy causes including the Lighthouse Women's Refuge, who help shine a light on the critical issue of domestic violence, and Home Start Suffolk, who provide practical and emotional support and friendship to Suffolk families MSC staff have been contributing essential items that form part of a larger hamper of goods, that is provided to families in need who may have had to flee and leave behind their possessions. Throughout 2023 we are proud to have supported more than 40 organisations, helping with causes such as underprivileged communities, physical and mental health, and children’s wellbeing.

MSC in the community

As a family business, we firmly believe that a healthy lifestyle is key to a healthy mind, and we have been proud to support numerous local community teams, fostering a sense of unity and sportsmanship.

Among them are Ipswich YM Rugby Club, Woodbridge Town FC, Felixstowe Cricket Club, Warrington Squash Club and Debenham Equestrian Team.

These partnerships go beyond the field and pitch, symbolising our commitment to building strong and resilient communities. By investing in these teams, we aim to nurture the values of teamwork, dedication, and community spirit.

As we look back on this year, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to you, our valued customers. Your support enables us to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Together, we are not just a business; we are a community that cares.
