MSC Launches New Weekly Calls in Manila North and First Service to Davao

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company is strengthening its commitment to the Philippines by expanding its service offerings to include three new weekly calls in Manila North and its very first service to Davao. These latest enhancements by one of the world’s largest container shipping companies, support the expansion of local businesses by directly connecting the Philippines with major global trade centres through reliable services at competitive transit times.

Three New Weekly Calls in Manila North Providing Greater Coverage, Connectivity and Reliability
The New Origami, Kaguya and Lang Co service now provide 3 new weekly calls in Manila North, increasing coverage by directly connecting Manila with Southeast Asia and South China. With the expansions, MSC is now also providing 2 weekly departures from Manila North to Busan for connection with Trans-Pacific and Latin America trades as well as with Japan.

Furthermore, with fixed windows at the local terminal, MSC is offering the reliability that customers require. The new weekly calls will support importers of all sorts, from foodstuffs, paper and textile, to automotive and e-goods. Electronics, automotive and retails exporters for Korea and Japan will also significantly benefit from these enhancements.

First Service to Davao Offering Fast Transit Time, Flexibility and Reliability for Time-sensitive Cargo
Additionally, with the enhanced Lang Co, MSC is now deploying its first service to Davao. With a fast transit time of proforma 5 days with Shekou and 7 days with Hong Kong, this upgraded service will particularly benefit customers with time-sensitive cargo such as bananas and durians.

From South China, Lang Co now also connects to all the MSC network, especially the Middle East market with the Falcon service with very competitive transit time for banana cargo (Jebel Ali in 23 days).
