Emergency Operation Surcharge Trade from Indian Subcontinent, Middle East and Oceania to US East Coast and Gulf

In order to cover expected operational disruptions at US ports, as a consequence to work stoppages, strikes or other labor-related reasons, MSC announces the following Emergency Operation Surcharge (EOS) implementation, applicable to all shipments from the Indian Subcontinent[1], Middle East[2] and Oceania[3] directed to USA East Coast & Gulf, effective as from 27 October (Gate in date) until further notice.

The EOS will be charged as follows :

  • USD 1,500 per 20’ container
  • USD 3,000 per 40’ container

Unless otherwise specified, all charges of reefer and special equipment for open top, flat rack and tank containers are the same as tariff of dry cargo.

[3] Oceania countries: Australia, New Zealand, FIJI, New Caledonia and Papeete French Polynesia
