Contingency Adjustment Charge - Trade IPAK and Middle East to USA East Coast, USA Gulf Coast and San Juan

21/12/2023

In view of the recent events in the Red Sea, MSC has taken the decision to divert its ships via the Cape of Good Hope to maintain the safety of the crew, cargo, and ship.

This diversion will mean an increase in transit time depending on the destination and/or transhipment point involved.

Further, as from 18 January 2024 (last container gate-in date) until further notice, MSC will implement a Contingency Adjustment Charge (CAC) of USD 1500/container on all shipments from Indian Sub-Continent (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka) and Middle East to USA East Coast, USA Gulf Coast and San Juan.

Should you have any questions, please contact your local MSC representatives in our global network of more than 675 offices.
