Pls note below two important decrees about importation of Vehicles in Rwanda and make sure all shippers are duly informed:

1. Prohibition of vehicles with right hand

Pursuant to the new decree n° D/2020/298/PRG/SGG , herewith attached, with immediate effect, pls DO NOT ACCEPT any booking for Vehicles with right hand when the POD or Final destination is Rwanda.

2. Regulation of the age limit for used vehicles

As from July 15th 2021 (sailing date @ POL) it is strictly forbidden to import used vehicles older than 13 years. This applies to any type of used vehicle (car, truck etc.)

Used vehicle must be inspected by any entity allowed to do so at origin country and that entity is required to issue a certificate or an equivalent document stating the condition of the vehicle. The certificate must be sent to consignee as it will be required during clearing formalities.
