MSC Hosts a Second Reefer MasterClass in Valencia

21/05/2019

On Friday 17th May, MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company welcomed more than 90 guests to the latest Reefer MasterClass at their offices in Valencia.

MSC’s Reefer MasterClass combines theory with practical demonstrations. Attendees learned about the latest reefer technologies available to ensure the optimal transport conditions for perishable cargo. This session focused on mastering the transportation of fruits.

Attendees included MSC’s customers, major Spanish fruit and vegetable exporters, technicians, health inspectors and MSC staff from Spain, Geneva, Macedonia and Greece.

Led by Julio Nestar, MSC’s Reefer Manager in Spain, and Antonino Ferraiolo, Reefer Expert at MSC’s head office in Geneva, the workshop explored business opportunities created by controlled atmosphere systems.

The master class started with an analysis of new market opportunities by Oliver Huesmann from Euro Fresh Produce. Afterwards, Jason Navarro from UTC Carrier, and Antonino Ferraiolo shared insights into the new controlled atmosphere system, XtendFRESH™ CA, technology developed to limit fruit ripening and extend shelf-life.

We understand the importance of preserving the condition of our customers’ cargo from the moment it is loaded until the moment it reaches its delivery point.
