MSC Displays Cashew Shipping Expertise at JNEC in West Africa

02/01/2018

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company is delighted to return to the JNEC-CI (Cashew Exporters National Day) trade fair in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, on 22-24 February.

As a leading provider of transportation and logistics services to African exporters of cashews, MSC and its logistics subsidiary MEDLOG will have representatives at Booth 5-7 at the Radisson Blu Hotel to explain our expertise, reliability and flexibility in handling peak season cashew exports.

In just a few years, cashews have become the second leading export commodity for many countries on the West African coast. Nowadays they account for nearly 125 000 TEU (twenty foot equivalent units) of annual cargo volume exported from West Africa, or which more than one third come from Ivory Coast.

MSC offers a high frequency of sailings between West Africa and the main ports of discharge for cashews, as well as our network of West African container port terminals and warehouses. Our cashew experts are based close to the source of production in West Africa and in key purchasing countries such as India and Vietnam.

MSC recognizes that cashews are among the most important products grown in in the region – the No. 2 commodity in Ivory Coast after cocoa – and we look forward to explaining our MSC and MEDLOG services to shippers at the fair.
