MSC's Chief Digital & Information Officer to Address the Potential of Blockchain at USC's 7th Annual Global Supply Chain Summit

05/08/2019

MSC is proud to once again participate in USC’s 7th Annual Global Supply Chain Excellence Summit – an event designed to connect leaders and create transformation through supply chain excellence – held in Los Angeles, California from 8-9 August.

This year, the agenda will address topics related to cutting-edge technologies and practices aimed at connecting supply networks around the world and enhancing the speed and security of global logistics. Blockchain, one of the most exciting areas of technology within the shipping industry, will be addressed under the auspices of the conference theme: “Evolution-Revolution-Disruption.”

Delivering the keynote speech on 9 August, Andre Simha, Chief Digital & Information Officer at MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, and Chairman of a new industry-wide digital container shipping association (DCSA), will discuss how blockchain has the potential to transform the maritime sector.

In an increasingly digital, on-demand world, customer expectations are higher than ever. MSC is pioneering the use of blockchain in the maritime sector to improve efficiency and transparency across the supply chain, both through its own pilot initiatives and in technology projects sponsored by multiple carriers.
