MSC Congratulates the Winner of Singapore Bicentennial Container Design Competition

13/05/2019

MSC is proud to announce the winner of our Singapore Bicentennial Container Design Competition.

We extend our congratulations to Mr. Chris Foong of Kuehne + Nagel Pte Ltd for his entry themed “Evolution of Vessel”. His design best demonstrated our shared heritage and Singapore’s transition throughout time, from a remote developing island into a buzzling present-day Singapore.

In conjunction with Singapore Bicentennial celebration, the competition commemorates the 200th anniversary of Sir Stamford Raffles’ arrival on Singapore’s shores in 1819. MSC invited our customers and partners to celebrate this milestone by designing a container that reflects our shared heritage.

Five finalists were selected from the original fifteen entries by a panel consisting of top management of MSC Asia Regional Office. To make a fair selection, the judges’ panel was not shown participants’ details, only their artwork. Each entry was evaluated by judges on its own merit.

Mr. Foong’s design received almost half of all votes. His winning design will be featured on a MSC 20 foot container. We will post updates of the container’s progress as it travels around the world for the next 6 months.
