MSC CEO Soren Toft highlighted our long-term commitment to strengthening African supply chains, with the acquisition of Africa Global Logistics. MSC’s investments in ports, warehousing and logistics infrastructure demonstrate belief in Africa’s. Soren also reaffirmed plans to retain local talent, support logistics hubs such as Abidjan and enhance connectivity between African exporters and global markets, reinforcing the importance of a patient, long-term approach to development on the continent.

MSC’s Senior Vice President of Business Development, Nicolas Sartini, outlined our commitment to boosting intra-African trade by leveraging our extensive operations across more than 45 African countries and 80+ weekly port calls. He called for deeper cooperation, improved infrastructure and streamlined trade processes to unlock Africa’s trade potential, and announced the opening of a new MSC office in Kigali to support our long-term expansion and responsiveness to regional needs.

MSC CEO Soren Toft highlighted MSC’s strong belief in Africa’s trade future. He pointed to persistent challenges, especially the need to harmonise customs procedures and simplify documentation under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), as key to unlocking greater regional commerce. Finally, he reaffirmed our investments in improving port efficiency and logistics infrastructure across Africa, and stressed ongoing vigilance on maritime safety issues such as piracy.
