In reference to our previous communication of 19 July about the new 2M strategic cooperation with ZIM on the Asia – US East Coast trade, MSC is today announcing further details about its revised Transpacific US East Coast network.
As previously communicated, there will be a combined operation of five loops between Asia and US East Coast as part of the new strategic cooperation.
In addition, MSC will continue to offer its Lone Star Express service, which is already included in our 2M vessel sharing agreement with Maersk Line, but was not included in the new arrangement with ZIM.
The revised network will improve MSC’s products across these regions and unveil new opportunities for shippers. Southeast Asian exporters will benefit from the Elephant trade, a new direct service between Laem Chabang port, Thailand, and US East Coast ports such as New York. The revised network will include calls at Colombo to facilitate shipping opportunities for cargo from nearby India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The updated network will be operational from early September.
