MSC is pleased to have CEO Soren Toft taking part at the largest African annual private sector event co-hosted by Jeune Afrique Group and the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation.
On 14 June at 11.35 GMT MSC’s CEO will do an exclusive one-on-one interview with Eleni Giokos, CNN anchor and correspondent. Soren will comment on supply chains in the post-COVID world and the enduring contribution of container shipping and logistics to free, fair and affordable trade.
He will talk about MSC’s longstanding commitment to Africa, since the company’s first ocean liner service in 1971, and its growing commitment to investing on the continent. MSC agreed on 31 March 2022 to acquire Bolloré Africa Logistics (BAL), an initiative that is already a hot topic among delegates to the Africa CEO Forum even while the transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals and completion.
Soren will also comment on MSC’s long-term positive view for Africa and its industrialisation, as well as the potential benefits of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and other trends specific to the shipping, logistics and ports sectors.
