MSC enhances service to key North Atlantic ports

23/10/2014

The revised service is due to come into effect in early 2015.

While the 2M vessel sharing agreement (VSA) will deliver outstanding operational benefits for MSC clients, the proposed schedule did not include direct services to Boston or Philadelphia. These updated routes will ensure MSC offers complete coverage of North American ports, seamless continuity of service and faster transit times.

MSC considers it strategically important to maintain services into Boston and Philadelphia; to do so while delivering improved transit times from North Europe is a double success.

MSC looks forward to years of growth servicing the Philadelphia market region, and we’re grateful for the support of the State of Pennsylvania and its Governor, Tom Corbett. MSC and Governor Corbett's administration worked together on an innovative solution to increase volume in Pennsylvania's ports to the benefit of its economy. Commitment to growth, excellence and successful partnerships are values that we have in common.

The provisional rotation for the westbound services will be:

PORT DAYS
Antwerp 1
Bremerhaven 3
Rotterdam 5
Le Havre 6
Boston 14
Philadelphia 16

Customers are advised to contact their local MSC offices for further information.
