Important Notice - End of Voyage Declaration for Exports from the Arabian and Persian Gulf

09/03/2026

In light of the ongoing and exceptional security situation in the Middle East, MSC regrets to inform you that, in accordance with the MSC Sea Waybill and Bill of Lading Terms and Conditions, it is necessary to declare an End of Voyage for certain export shipments currently under MSC custody and control from ports within the Arabian and Persian Gulf, whether located ashore or already onboard. This measure also applies to empty containers that have been released for stuffing.

This decision is taken pursuant to Clause 13 (Special Circumstances) of the applicable contract of carriage and reflects the exceptional nature of the current circumstances. It does not constitute a breach of contract.

All affected cargo will be discharged and made available to cargo interests at the designated port. From that point onwards, custody, risk, and responsibility for the cargo will transfer to the cargo interests. Any costs related to discharge, handling, storage, or associated services will be for the account of the cargo, as contractually agreed.

Customers who wish to continue the transport of their cargo with MSC via alternative routing or solutions may do so under a new and separate contract of carriage, to be arranged through the usual MSC agency channels. MSC teams remain fully committed to supporting customers in identifying and organizing the most appropriate onward transport solutions. To cover the additional operational and logistical costs incurred in developing and arranging such alternative solutions, a mandatory surcharge of USD 800 per container will apply to all affected shipments.

Customers are kindly requested to contact their local MSC office for details of the designated port and to confirm recovery or onward transport instructions.

MSC sincerely regrets the necessity of this decision, which arises from exceptional circumstances beyond its control, and appreciates your understanding and cooperation during this time.

For further information or assistance, please contact your local MSC representatives in our global network of more than 675 offices.
