Operational Update - Resumption of Australia Express Service in the Red Sea Region

31/10/2026

Following a comprehensive review of the latest security and operational conditions in the Red Sea region, MSC is continuing to partially restore Suez Canal transits on a limited number of its East–West services. In line with this, the Australia Express service operating between Europe and Australia, has now resumed Suez Canal transit for both eastbound and westbound cargo.

Individual booking confirmations and online schedules will be updated progressively to reflect the new voyage plans. The transition will be implemented on a case-by-case basis. MSC will continue to closely monitor developments throughout the region, in coordination with the relevant authorities and security partners. The protection of our seafarers, vessels and customers’ cargo remains our overriding priority.

Contingency arrangements remain in place, allowing individual voyages to be adjusted should circumstances require.

Should you have any questions, please contact your local MSC representatives in our global network of more than 675 offices.
