With Heavy Hearts, we Bid Farewell to Captain Pasquale Formisano

Pasquale was one of the pioneers who helped build MSC from its earliest years. In the early 1970s, he worked alongside our founder, Captain Gianluigi Aponte, as MSC began to grow, and accompanied the first MSC vessel to call at Antwerp.

Over the decades that followed, Pasquale became one of the most recognized and respected figures in the shipping industry. His extraordinary dedication to MSC and deep knowledge of shipping earned him enormous respect from customers, partners, colleagues and peers around the world.

But for those who knew him, Pasquale was much more than that. A man of strong principles and strong character, he was straightforward, hardworking and generous, with an unmistakable sense of humour and a big heart. He was always there to help friends and colleagues.
