Emergency Fuel Surcharge - Trade from Asia to USA and Canada

Recent events in the Middle East have created significant disruption across the global fuel market. This has driven a rapid increase in marine fuel prices globally and has altered the normal geographic distribution of marine fuel supply.

As a consequence, this has reduced the availability of bunker fuel at many traditional sourcing locations, which are increasing procurement challenges and adding operating costs across our network.

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company will therefore update the Emergency Fuel Surcharge (EFS) previously announced on 01 April 2026.

As from 01 June 2026 (VATOS; gate-in date) until further notice, the EFS will be applicable to all cargo on the trade from Asia to USA and Canada, and will be charged as follows:
