Dear Customers and Partners,
Please note that due to the deteriorating war situation in Hodeidah, we are not able any longer to obtain permission from the UNVIM / Saudi / Coalition forces to berth our vessels in the port of Hodeidah and therefore regret to inform you that with immediate effect MSC cannot offer any longer Hodeidah port as a destination.
Therefore, until further notice please refrain from booking any containers to Hodeidah.
As soon as the situation changes we will notify you immediately.
MSC has no option but to declare the voyage ended in King Abdullah Port (KAP) for all manifested Hodeidah containers currently lying in KAP or on the water in transit to KAP with destination Hodeidah.
We will give you the opportunity to divert any Hodeidah b/l containers to Aden provided you declare this option immediately and our POL agents are immediately taking action within the next 4 working days with COD’s and EMC. In such cases there will be no further extra cost involved provided the 4 days’ timing is being adhered to. ( latest 15th Feb. 2017 – 17.00 hours ).
Any other deviation or return of containers to origin will have to follow the standard deviation rules and the cost attached to these rules.
It is important to note that MSC will keep on accepting container bookings for the Yemen ports of Aden and Mukalla.
For additional information, please contact your local MSC office.
Best regards, your MSC TEAM
