We’re pleased to announce that Ben Webber, MSC UK’s Logistics Intelligence Manager, has been recognised as a member of the Multimodal 30Under30 Club.
Created in association with Freight Business Journal, the 30Under30 Club showcases the rising stars of the freight and logistics industry. After nominations were put forward earlier this summer, 30 winners were selected by an expert panel of senior industry figures.
Members of the 30Under30 Club will be featured in an exclusive supplement for Freight Business Journal, as well as appearing on the Multimodal website. They’ll also receive an access all areas VIP pass for next year’s Multimodal event, where they will be invited to participate in a debate about logistics as a career.
A member of the MSC UK team since 2011, Ben was nominated for the showcase due to his outstanding dedication to maximising the use of digital technologies within MSC UK’s logistics department to improve efficiency and enhance the customer experience.
Matt Layzell, MSC UK Head of Logistics, said: “Ben has been a valued member of MSC UK’s logistics team since joining us nine years ago. During this time he has consistently demonstrated a genuine enthusiasm to his work, dedication and commitment to his team, and inspired those around him. Ben’s work ethic is nothing short of exemplary and this award is a testament to his hard work.”
At just 28 years old, Ben Webber has worked his way through the MSC ranks since joining the company in March 2011. From an enthusiastic 19-year-old office junior to the Logistics Intelligence Manager he is today, Ben has truly brought MSC UK’s logistics department into the modern world.
Graduating from MSC’s Aspiring Manager’s Programme (AMP) and Management Excellence Programme (MEP) back-to-back in 2018, Ben is responsible for managing seven people in a team he was previously part of, Container Movements, and has also developed a brand-new team of Logistics Analysts.
Described by his manager as being an extremely valued and hardworking member of the MSC team, Ben was pivotal in the concept and development of MSC’s Intermodal Portal; allowing customers/hauliers to arrange restitutions of empty containers back to the ports, stay up-to-date 24/7 with the progress of their inland deliveries and see real-time information on the location of their container.
Ben is constantly developing his own skills to transform otherwise manual tasks into automated, modernised ways of working. Through the introduction of Power BI dashboards and SharePoint, he has streamlined business-wide processes to improve the customer experience, enabled the company to make informed business decisions and enhanced KPI reporting for both MSC UK and its Global HQ in Geneva.
