MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A. wishes to inform clients of recent updates that have taken place at King Abdullah Port (KAP) in Saudi Arabia with regards to the availability of 24-hour customs cargo clearance at the port.
This development brings significant benefit to customers and makes KAP the first Port in the Kingdom to introduce such a forward-thinking initiative.
Having started from Monday 20th February, procedures at KAP now involve the manifest being uploaded five days before the arrival of the vessel, and the Delivery Order being released two days before vessel arrival.
Hisham Al Ansari, Chief Executive for MSC Saudi Arabia, said: “This announcement brings great benefit to our customers and we are therefore delighted to be ahead of the field in presenting this progress. The port itself is already seen as a superb infrastructure, with over 30 deep water berths, direct highway access 24/7, and such a perfect main-trade position between Asia and Europe. Adding 24-hours cargo clearance in addition to this existing offering really does make for so many advantages to busy global customers.”
Further to the above announcement, as from 1st April 2017, MSC will no longer be releasing Bills of Lading with Port of Destination as Jeddah. MSC will continue to offer Jeddah via truck move from KAP.
