Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A (MSC) wishes to advise clients that any shipments destined for India must be consigned to an Indian receiver with the full style of street address and contact details (phone or email address). If the consignee is "to order", the first notify party must be an Indian receiver. The shipment will be rejected to be discharged at ports of India if a consignee located outside India is found. Shippers must comply to this requirement when issuing their forwarding instructions.
In case if the consignee, notify party or any other details on the Bill of lading need to be amended, you are required to send the amendment 7 working days prior to vessel’s arrival into India. Any changes after the above-mentioned deadline are subject to Customs Fine.
All costs that are caused by failure to provide the details of an Indian receiver or failure to meet the deadline of manifest correction, will be passed onto the account of merchant shipper.
