October 7th, 2016 marks a date for the World Smile Day as well as the 1st MSC Norfolk annual charity golf tournament for the benefit of Operation Smile.
Operation Smile with headquarters in Virginia, provides a life-changing surgery to hundreds of thousands of children with cleft lip/palate and facial deformities. It educates and advocates for safe surgical care for children around the world where safe surgery is not an option. Operation Smile and MSC both believe that every child deserves exceptional care.
To support the cause, 8 committee members in MSC Norfolk office worked on organizing a perfect tournament for all of the golf lovers in Virginia’s maritime industry and raised money in benefit to all those children who are in need of cleft care.
Registration opened at 11:30 on Friday Oct 7th and over 70 players enjoyed spending their day on the Bide-A-Wee Golf Course in Portsmouth, Virginia until the sun went down.
Players competed for the first place and the Hole in One prize 2017 Maserati Ghibli.
The 4-person scramble teams enjoyed a 18 holes round of golf. Unlimited drinks and a delicious dinner during the reception; at this stage prizes were presented to the winners, and right after a $1500 50/50 ruffle took place for the happiness of all ticket buyers. Afterwards, Operation Smile COO Wayne Zin attended the reception delivering inspiring speech about the mission of helping children in need.
