Established by MSC in 2000, TiL invests, manages and develops container terminals around the world.
Over the last decade, TiL has grown to become the largest container terminal operator in the world, with 7 terminals in 25 world busiest ports. This success has been driven by the strategy of developing joint ventures with other leading terminal operators and owners.
Understanding that an efficient terminal is essential to a successful operation, MSC’s association with TiL allows us increased control over the whole port process, allowing for a better and more secure service to our customers.
MSC believes in going where our customers want us to go, which is why we have terminals on all five continents, and why we continue to increase our portfolio through strategic investment.
TiL manages both dry and wet ports, allowing MSC increased flexibility, delivering customers a more efficient service through the prioritised movement of our customers containers from congested wet ports to nearby dry ports and onto delivery.
In April 2013, we announced plans to sell 35% of TIL to Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a partnership which forms a strong foundation for the future growth of the company.
