MSC UK’s in-house Customs service means easy, efficient and legally compliant international transit of your cargo – saving you time and money.
Our dedicated Customs team is on hand to offer expert advice to guide you through HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) formalities. As an ‘AEO’, or Authorised Economic Operator, MSC customers also benefit from faster processing through Customs procedures.
What does MSC UK’s Customs clearance service include?
The range of help and advice our Customs clearance team provides is wide-ranging:
MSC UK can submit import and export customs entries on your behalf.
We’re happy to accept shipment by shipment or yearly instructions (same port pairs, commodity, shipper/consignee, trade).
MSC uses dedicated Customs software to create entries.
Deferment approval facility – when MSC is undertaking customs clearance, we can pay VAT to Customs on your behalf using our account (with cleared funds upfront).
Guiding you through the paperwork
At MSC UK we’re committed to delivering world-class customer service, and that means making each stage of the shipping process as simple and transparent as possible. When it comes to Customs procedures and formalities, we’ll navigate you through the essential paperwork, including:
EUR 1 / ATR (Export): preference certificates to secure reduced or nil duty rates can be raised.
MSC UK can stamp and authorise these certificates on site – meaning you don’t have to send them to HMRC or a local Chamber of Commerce.
T2L (Evidence of EU community status):
MSC UK has customs approval to use pre-authenticated T2Ls , instead of submitting to HMRC each and every time.
What's more, we can help complete the Customs entry on your behalf. Just download the NES instructions document from the box on the right, complete the details, send back to us and we will submit your Customs declaration for you.
