Mediterranean Shipping Company (UK) Ltd. would like to advise our customers that China Customs has released Order No.56 to adjust the advanced manifest rule.
This order is effective from the 1st June 2018 and to comply with the enforcement of the regulation, please note the following:
- Advance manifest submission is 24 hours prior to loading. We will require full and complete Shipping Instructions 36 hours prior to the vessels arrival at the load port, to allow time for processing and submission.
Please note – For China ports served via a transhipment service, CCAM is not required from the UK port of loading and our standard deadlines will apply.
- The TAX ID of the Shipper and USCC of Consignee (or first notify party, if the bill of lading is ‘to order’) are a mandatory requirement. Both numbers are required by China Customs and must be provided when submitting the Shipping Instructions.
Please note – The USCC code is an 18-digit Chinese business registration number. The number does not need to be reflected within the bill of lading, only the manifest.
Please adhere to the above guidelines to avoid any risk of your consignment being held or delayed by the Chinese Authorities.
For further information with regards to these regulations, please don’t hesitate to contact your local MSC team on 01473 277777 or your usual MSC representative.
