Please kindly note we have been advised from the Ghana Shippers Authority that they will begin implementation of the Advanced Shipment Information (ASHI) effective 1st March (cargo bill of lading date) for all shipments to Ghana.
Each bill of lading for maritime shipments arriving at the ports must be covered by an ASHI document, issued and validated at the loading port in accordance with the said legislation. The document will be a requirement for cargo clearance through Customs at the ports of Ghana; thus any shipment not accompanied by a valid ASHI document will incur penalties.
The ASHI document will be secured by the exporter from origin.
It will be mandatory for all Shipping Lines operating into Ghana to quote a valid ASHI number on their bills of lading and cargo manifests issued in respect of cargo shipped to Ghana – bill of lading effective date 1st March 2015. Thus at the time of sending shipping instructions to the booking office of MSC, the shipper must already have a valid ASHI number to quote.
The Ghana Shippers' Authority has engaged the services of Antaser Afrique Bvba (Duboisstraat 46 - 2060 Antwerp, Belgium) as its sole worldwide general agent for the management of the ASHI system through its dedicated electronic platform - www.antaser.com
On the web platform of Antaser all information on how to register and create an account, placing the account in funds, applicable tariffs, contact details etc. are available.
The electronic application for the issuance of ASHI forms for Ghana will be accessible in the course of week 8. New users can however start registering and crediting their electronic account with immediate effect.
Shippers are therefore requested to contact Antaser Afrique or its local sub-agents around the world (contact details for regional agents at https://www.antaser.com/antaser/pub/agency/list) for further information.
