On 1st May 2016, the new Union Customs Code (UCC) was legally introduced, constituting the most significant change to EU and UK import and export regulations in over two decades.
This includes changes to:
• Proof of Union Status
• Communications and IT Infrastructure
• Guarantees and Deferment
• Binding Tariff Information (BTI)
• Special Procedures and CPEI (e.g. IPR Drawback, End Use, Customs Warehousing)
• Valuation (e.g. Royalties and Earlier Sales)
• Local Export Clearance
• Temporary Storage
As the UCC affects companies operating in international trade in different ways, we want to make our customers aware of the below official HMRC guidance webpage, which can assist in assessing potential impact on their business.
