The Port of Felixstowe (PoF) continues to experience service interruptions following the implementation of a new terminal operating system in June 2018. These issues are impacting all associated shipping lines and vessel arrival times and collection/delivery slots.
In order to keep you updated on all recent developments, in addition to contacting customers about specific shipments, we will be posting general updates on this page.
Our teams are continuously working to find alternative solutions to minimise the impact on our customers.
Due to the ongoing operational delays at the Port of Felixstowe, we continue to use the breadth of our UK port and intermodal network to maintain service levels and minimise the impact on your bookings. In the short term this means that selected vessels will be diverted when necessary for continuity of service.
Please see the diversion plan below:

Temporary Amendment to 2M Transatlantic Network - String NEUATL2
Mediterranean Shipping Company (UK) Ltd. would like to advise our customers that, starting on 22nd July for a period of four to six weeks, the UK port of call for the NEUATL2 string will be Liverpool rather than Felixstowe.
Routing the NEUATL2 string via Liverpool not only provides customers with a viable alternative UK solution for their Transatlantic cargoes, it also alleviates some of the pressure on and through the Port of Felixstowe as it attempts to overcome its productivity issues.
The temporary port rotation is as follows:
Bremerhaven – Antwerp – Le Havre – Liverpool – New York, NY – Baltimore, MD – Norfolk, VA – Savanah, GA
MSC thanks all customers for the patience and support shown during this period of contingency operations.
Should you have any questions, please contact your local MSC representative, or phone +44 (0)1473 277777 and a member of our team will be happy to assist.
