MSC Introduces Latest Annual Sustainability Report

24/09/2020

Today MSC publishes its fourth annual Sustainability Report, covering the 2019 period.

The report outlines our strategic approach to reduce our impact on environment and to make a positive impact on society through conducting business in a responsible, ethical way.

This year, the report launch coincides with World Maritime Day. The 2020 theme ‘Sustainable shipping for a sustainable planet’ provides an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to showcase our commitment to sustainability.

The report itself provides a thorough overview of our approach to sustainability highlighting some key achievements from all MSC group of companies, wrapped around the following four strategic pillars:

  • Social Inclusion
  • Environment
  • Occupational Health and Safety
  • Business Ethics and Protection of Human Rights

The 2019 report also includes a special insert on COVID-19 explaining the crucial role MSC has in keeping the global trade flowing even during very difficult operating conditions. Despite the exceptional year, we remain committed to ensuring responsible business operations around the world and reducing our impact on the environment while contributing positively to society, wherever we operate.
