The national economy of Cote d’Ivoire is largely dependent on agriculture and related activities, which employ roughly two-thirds of the country’s population. The Ivory Coast is the world’s largest producer and exporter of cocoa beans and a significant producer and exporter of coffee and palm oil.
Cocoa, oil and coffee are the country’s highest export revenue earners, although the country is also producing gold. Cote d’Ivoire also produces oil and boasted two off-shore oil finds in 2012.
