Further to our Notice to Clients published on 25th February, MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A. wishes to advise clients that the PORTUGAL MA602A / MA608R, which is currently operating on our Australia Express service, has been delayed in Sydney due to a Patricks crane damaging radar and communication equipment onboard the vessel.
As a result of the above, the PORTUGAL requires repairs in Sydney before continuing on its voyage around the Australian coast. Spare parts for the repairs are currently being sourced from overseas.
The repairs were originally expected to be completed the 3rd March, however due to the late arrival of a replacement radar from overseas, the vessel has now an estimated departure date of the 9th March.
Further updates will be made with regards to vessel schedule and our cargo contingency plans pending the progress of these repairs.
MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A. regrets these delays which have been caused outside of MSC control.
