MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A. wishes to advise clients that following the recent press release, the enhanced Australia Express Service will provide direct service to EU ports: Valencia, London Gateway, Antwerp and Le Havre with immediate effect.
To comply with the regulations of EU Customs, MSCA will be required to submit the manifest to EU Customs 24 hours prior to loading in Australia for direct discharge cargo and all transhipment cargo in the above mentioned EU ports.
Forwarding Instruction Deadline:
All forwarding instructions are required to be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 48 working hours prior to vessel arrival at each port in Australia (excluding weekends and public holidays). This is to ensure adequate time to process your forwarding instructions and submit accurate and timely manifest data to EU Customs.
Mandatory requirements for Forwarding Instruction:
Complete street address including zip or postal code for shipper, consignee and notify party.
Minimum 4 digit harmonized code.
Correct weight, commodity and package declaration.
Cargo description must be specific. (Example: “Parts” is not accepted; “Motorcycle parts” is acceptable)
Correct container number must be provided.
As the penalties are severe for breaching EU Customs regulations, MSCA will not load any cargo unless forwarding instruction is received and processed prior to the documentation deadline. Failure to meet the documentation deadline will incur costs and rolling of containers at shipper’s account.
