Low temperature solutions
Oxford Cryosystems Cryostream
700 series and Plus
The Cryostream 700 series (80-400 K range) and Cryostream Plus (80-500 K range) are the most recent models of the Cryostream Cooler, which has become the most popular low temperature device for crystallography available today. Both systems offer a superior laminar flow system, meaning virtually zero risk of icing, extremely quiet running and a fast-start system resulting in a cool-down time to 100 K of just 20 minutes. Both offer low liquid nitrogen consumption (half that of some other systems) meaning that a 60 liter Dewar vessel can last up to three days. The 700 series Cryostream and Cryostream Plus are both provided as standard with the AD51 dry air unit, liquid nitrogen Dewar vessel and support stand.
Features
- Temperature range of 80-400 K (700 series) and 80-500 K (Cryostream Plus)
- The best laminar flow available means far less icing than other systems
- Fast cool-down to 100 Kelvin in just 20 minutes compared to up to 60 minutes for other systems
- Highly accurate mapping of temperature at crystal position,
- Excellent stability of 0.1 K with ability to log and record system data
Oxford Cryosystems Cobra
Non-liquid Cryostream
Cobra has been designed for labs looking for Cryostream-like efficiency and functionality without the need for liquid nitrogen. As Cobra uses nitrogen gas, it offers complete freedom from liquid nitrogen, and the challenges it presents such as storage, refilling of Dewars and safety considerations. If a laboratory nitrogen gas supply is available, this can be used for the Cobra. Otherwise, an optional extra is the nitrogen gas generator which produces pure dry nitrogen gas from the air.
Features
- No liquid nitrogen required
- Temperature range of 80-400 K ( 80-500K for the Plus model)
- Fast cooldown time (40 mins to 100 K)
- Stable system can be run for weeks without user attention
- Excellent stability of 0.1 K with ability to log and record temperatures
