Osmic™ Ovonyx™

Sold to most major X-ray spectrometer manufacturers around the world—including Cameca, Jeol, Oxford, PANalytical, Shimadzu, Thermo—and available for all Rigaku instruments, Ovonyx multilayer optics are the most popular light element X-ray analyzers for all wavelength dispersive spectroscopy (WDS). Ovonyx offers several advantages in the analysis of Mg through Be over competing natural crystals. Enhanced reflectivity, higher order suppression, reduced background, and stability relative to contamination, temperature extremes, and radiation damage make Ovonyx multilayer optics superior dispersive analyzers in light element wavelength dispersive spectroscopy (WDS) and wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence (WDXRF) spectroscopy.

Ovonyx analyzers are available in both planar and cylindrical configurations for wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence (WDXRF) and electron probe microanalysis respectively (EPMA). Custom tailoring of d-spacing, Rowland radii of curvatures, and mounting allow Ovonyx optics to be used in any application.

Recent improvements in Rigaku's small d-spacing multilayer analyzer result in better performance than all competing analyzers. This exciting new product is available from Rigaku as RX-25 and from many other equipment makers.
