RSX Series radiography X-ray CCD detector
An ideal compact two dimensional (2D) CCD X-ray detector for small animal or specimen imaging, the advanced Rigaku RSX series are part of the new generation of CCD detector technology for high resolution radiography. Incorporating multiple Kodak® advanced front illuminated KAF-1001E CCD chips, the RSX series of cameras offer a high-speed 1 MHz readout while providing benefits made possible by the use of Kodak Blue Plus™ indium-tin oxide (ITO) technology.

Digital radiography offers the potential of improved image quality as well as providing opportunities for advances in medical image management, computer-aided diagnosis and teleradiology. Image quality is intimately linked to the precise and accurate acquisition of information from the X-ray beam, as transmitted through tissue, which is largely a function of the performance of the X-ray detector. Detectors for digital radiography must meet the needs of the specific radiological procedure where they will be used. Key parameters are spatial resolution, uniformity of response, contrast sensitivity, dynamic range, and readout time.
