Xsight+ beam imager system
As a general purpose, large area (15 x
20 mm) X-ray beam imager, Rigaku offers the Xsight+ system to provide real time visualization of X-ray beams at synchrotron beamlines or in academic and industrial X-ray laboratories. Utilizing the latest in high performance image intensification technology, the X-sight+ provides high sensitivity for imaging even low-flux beams. The system consists of a sensor module connected by cable to a control box with integrated LCD image display. In the sensor module, X-rays are converted into visible light by use of a scintillator; the light is then amplified by an intensifier and imaged by a video camera lens coupled to the output of the intensifier. The video signal it then fed to a control and display console.
High dynamic range and large image area
The ability to image X-rays in real time simply and quickly is mission in
life of the Xsight+. The Xsight+ is a high sensitivity, video rate X-ray imaging system for use in general purpose X-ray imaging tasks such as beam alignment, especially in such applications as Small Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS), where the beam intensity at the detector position can be extremely low.
The control console contains an LCD monitor to display the image from the camera system as well as adjustments to control the sensitivity of the system and the quality of the image on the monitor. Both video gain and intensifier gain control are provided allowing the Xsight+ to image X-rays over a wide range of input illuminations. The sensor head, which is connected to the control console by a single 5 meter cable, may be mounted using the built-in universal camera mount. The control box is powered by a
12 V input and offers an auxiliary video output should a separate monitor be desired.
